Short Love Story--Story of Regret

There was this guy who believed very much in true love and decided to take his time to wait for his right girl to appear. He believed that there would definitely be someone special out there for him, but none came.

Every year at Christmas, his ex-girlfriend would return from Vancouver to look him up. He was aware that she still held some hope of re-kindling the past romance with him. He did not wish to mislead her in any way. So he would always get one of his girl friends to pose as his steady whenever she came back. That went on for several years and each year, the guy would get a different girl to pose as his romantic interest. So whenever the ex-girlfriend came to visit him, she would be led into believing that it was all over between her and the guy. The girl took all those rather well, often trying to casually tease him about his different girlfriends, or so, as it seemed! In fact, the girl often wept in secret whenever she saw him with
another girl, but she was too proud to admit it. Still, every Christmas, she returned, hoping to re-kindle some form of romance. But each time, she returned to Vancouver feeling disappointed.

Finally she decided that she could not play that game any longer. Therefore, she confronted him and professed that after all those years, he was still the only man that she had ever loved. Although the guy knew of her feelings for him, he was still taken back and have never expected her to react that way. He always thought that she would slowly forget about him over time and come to terms that it was all over between them. Although he was touched by her undying love for him and wanted so much to accept her again, he remembered why he rejected her in the first place-she was not the one he wanted. So he hardened his heart and turned her down cruelly. Since then,
three years have passed and the girl never return anymore. They never even wrote to each other. The guy went on with his life..... still searching for the one but somehow deep inside him, he missed the girl.

On the Christmas of 1995, he went to his friend's party alone. "Hey, how come all alone this year? Where are all your girlfriends? What happened to that Vancouver babe who joins you every Christmas?", asked one of his friend. He felt warm and comforted by his friend's queries about her, still he just surged on. Then, he came upon one of his many girlfriends whom he once requested to pose as his steady. He wanted so much to ignore her ..... not that he was impolite, but because at that moment, he just didn't feel comfortable with those girlfriends anymore. It was almost like he was being judged by them. The girl saw him and shouted across the floor for him. Unable to avoid her, he went up to acknowledge her.

"Hi......how are you? Enjoying the party?" the girl asked.
"Sure.....yeah!", he replied. She was slightly tipsy..... must be from the whiskey on her hand. She continued, "Why...? Don't you need someone to pose as your girlfriend this year?" Then he answered, "No, there is no need for that anymore......" Before he can continue, he was interrupted, "Oh yes! Must have found a girlfriend! You haven't been searching for one for the past years, right?" The man looked up, as if he has struck gold, his face beamed and looked directly at the drunken girl. He replied, "Yes......you are right! I haven't been looking for anyone for the past years."
With that, the man darted across the floor and out the door, leaving the lady in much bewilderment. He finally realized that he has already found his dream girl, and she was.....the Vancouver girl all along! The drunken lady has said something that awoken him.

All along he has found his girl. That was why he did not bother to look further when he realized she was not coming back. It was not any specific girl he was seeking! It was perfection that he wanted, and yes.....perfection!!
Relationship is something both parties should work on. Realizing that he had let away someone so important in his life, he decided to call her immediately. His whole mind was flooded with fear. He was afraid that she might have found someone new or no longer had the same feelings anymore..... For once, he felt the fear of losing someone.

As it was Christmas eve, the line was quite hard to get through, especially an overseas call. He tried again and again, never giving up. Finally, he got through......precisely at 1200 midnight. He confessed his love for her and the girl was moved to tears. It seemed that she never got over him! Even after so long, she was still waiting for him, never giving up.

He was so excited to meet her and to begin his new chapter of their lives. He decided to fly to Vancouver to join her. It was the happiest time of their lives! But their happy time was short-lived. Two days before he was supposed to fly to Vancouver, he received a call from her father. She had a head-on car collision with a drunken driver. She passed away after 6 hours in a coma. The guy was devastated, as it was a complete loss. Why did fate played such cruel games with him? He cursed the heaven for taking her away from him, denying even one last look at her! How cruel he cursed! How he damned the Gods...!! How he hated himself....for taking so long to realize his
mistake!! That was in 1996.

The moral of this story is : -
Treasure what you have...
Time is too slow for those who wait;
Too swift for those who fear;
Too long for those who grief;
Too short for those who rejoice;
But for those who love...
Time is Eternity.

For all you out there with someone special in your heart, cherish that person, cherish every moment that you spend together that special someone, for in life, anything can happen anytime. You may painfully regret, only to realise that it is too late.

2005 09 15 ~ 17 Midland of Taiwan [Part V (Final)]

After a busy day, we were all tired. However, the memories deep inside our heart will never disappeared. Although we spent lot of money these days, but all these are worth it. Then, we discussed about our last day trip and get to bet later.

This morning, we got up pretty late. When we got up, it's about noon. Lee's mom bought some su-shi and a kind of strange juice for us. She's so kind that we thank her a lot. Anyway, that juice was real wired that I can't distinguish what's it comopnent. We just finished the meal soon~

We decided to go to Tai-Chung to spend the rest of our trip. We went to the City first, just walk around and shopping. When it comes to the evening, we went to Tong-Hei night market and buy some keepsake there.

Later, it's time to go home. On the way back to Taipei, I've been thinking about the trip. It's a nice trip and thanks Lee and Lin. Especially I want to thank Lee's mother, for the place to rest and su-shi with special juice.

It's Mid moon fastival today, we need to go back to Taipei as soon as possible because Lee and Lin had arrange a date with their friends. They are going to have a B.B.Q there.

2005 09 15 ~ 17 Midland of Taiwan [Part IV]

Time：2005.09.16 PM 4:15

As time goes by, it waits for no man. We began our trip right away to the parking lot. First, we searched for the sign to Swei-Li, trying to find out how it looks like and how it become a famous kiln.

Fortunately, we didn't get lost and got our destination with in ten minutes. After we parked the car, it make me feel something wrong~ How come there's no people on the road? We expected that there will be a lot of people here~ We walked and walked and walked, the shops along the road were closed. Anyway, it's not so strange, it's not a holiday. Finally, we saw some stores were open near the main gate to the kiln. However, under the shining sun, we only noticed the ice bar sold beside the gate. At first, we thought we could go inside and enjoy our time at will, but we were wrong. We will need to pay to enter the park. The entrance fee were too expensive, and it's only for visiting. If we expected to make a pottery on our own, it will take extra charge. Therefore, we decided to take some pictures only. Taking photos won't cost a cent...









Then, we turned around and leave this place. The next stop will be the Town Chi-Chi.

See the pictures? This is the old locomotive in Chi-Chi. It's hard to find parking spaces here~ Anyway, we find a place to park the car, although it's not a real safe place... Seems like we were late here. There's a small market here, but the sales are packing their stuff and getting closed. They really close their shop early.

We took some time to look around, there's nothing interesting here. However, we found this shop. To say it's a shop, I'd rather say it's a museum, which will show some special things in the world. Outside the museum, there's a huge king-kong. We took pictures with it one by one.



I have to say, Lee, you are the winner! You look just the same as the king-kong!

After that, we decided to rent a bike. This is a bike which allows three of us to ride together. It's hard to control the bike, pretty different than those which designed for one. It's a great fun to ride this kind of bike, but it looked very stupid. Also, it is much more tiresome than bikes for one. Riding this bike is really a great experience. Soon, the sun fell down and it's time to have our dinner. There is nothing special here, so we only ate some noodles, then begin our trip to go back to Sun-Moon lake, planning to see the firework show.

The bad thing happened. There are not many cars in the afternoon, but it's crowded now. Maybe it's Friday, people finished their work and came here at the same time. After we found a parking space and parked the car, we heard the sound of music. The performer on the stage asked everyone to move their body with him. They played a couple of games, nothing big deal. To me, I learned something such as Shaows is the smallest clan in Taiwan. There are only about a few hundreds of Shaow people now in the world. Anyway, these are not important. The warmhearted Shaow people had already gave us a warm night. As watching their show, I feel relaxed and enjoy the great time with them. When the firework time coming, we walked to the deck. Wow, it is already full of people. It is real beautiful. The firework moved my heart, made me think about the past, and the future. The last time I see firework show is on my graduation ceremony. Each time gave me different feelings. Both are unforgettable.































After the firework, we walked with the fastest way to go home. We didn't want to get stock by the traffic jam. However, we didn't make it. We drove and drove and drove, then we got back to Lee's home.

It is a great day, I feel just great! Although we didn't enter some specific places to look around, and we've been kind of hurry, it's great! Maybe next time, we need to make our plan more clear. Find out where to go and how to get there. This trip is so casual that I get a lot of fun and ease. Can't deny I'm relaxed then.

2005 09 15 ~ 17 Midland of Taiwan [Part III]

Time：2005.09.16 AM10:30

This day, we get up pretty late. (Actually, it's almost the same as usual...) It's almost 10 in the morning, and we began to move on our destination today, the Sun-Moon Lake.

We didn't plan much about today's trip. Just see if there's anything interesting. The Sun-Moon Lake lies on the middle of Taiwan. Geographically, it is the center of Taiwan. We drove for a long time, finally we saw the sign says "Welcome to Sun-Moon Lake." We found the free parking space first. Looks like there were not much people here today. The parking space is empty, it should be hard to park here during the holidays. The time now is over noon. Therefore we decide to find something eat first. We found a restaurant, which has the signboard says the "president fish". We feel very excited to see this sign. What kind of fish could be said as a "president fish"? We traveled far away to be here, we must take a try! We ordered the president fish meal.

Maybe it's late at noon or it's not a holiday, there are very few customers in the restaurant. However, the dishes are pretty good. We were all very hungry, so we didn't spend much time on lunch. Finally, we now trying to keep our trip.

Steping out from the restaurant, we walk along the lake. We walk and walk and walk, finally we saw an old street, which is the path to Swei-She dock. Before the trip, we checked this place on the internet. We could continue our trip by boat.

While we get close to the old street, we saw a five star hotel. Seems like they are having some activities about Mercedes-Benz. Anyway, we stayed at the hotel for a while, and took some pictures over there. With the lakes and the mountains, it's really beautiful.





Along the old street, finally we found the ticket office of the ships. At first, we want to compare of the price, since we don't have much money to waste. However, we asked many people, they all offer the same service and cost the same price. There's no big difference, therefore we just pick one at will and paid for the ticket. At first, I feel it's too expensive, it took us about 300 NT dollar, which is about 10 USD. However, we don't have chances to kill the price.

We Took some pictures of the dock. Seeing this view, I feel relaxed deeply inside my heart. Man, this is having a vacation!



There are fish in the lake. I wonder is it the same fish as we ate at noon... Seems like the lake is really clean. We live in the city, rarely have chace to see fishes which are alive. Wow...

They are so sweet that we could have a cup of coffee while we are waiting for the ship. Anyway, this is how they make business, right?






We are so lucky that the weather is just great. With the sunshine and the blue sky, the heat of the air had made us tired. After 15 minutes, an old man came and asked us to get on board. No way, we are giving our lives to that kind of old man? We tried to convince ourselves, he must have more experience... This is our ship, Mow-Shen No.1

After getting on the ship, we were thinking that do we need to wear the life jacket or something. Actually, there are some life jacket on the ship, but you'll never want to wear them. They looked old and dirty... The old captain is pretty nice, even he's old, we still get to our destination.

Not knowing why, there's a dead fish in the lake, it's really strange to see this in this lake~



This is a sign on our ship, which is "Have fun in Sun Moon Lake" in English. While we were discussing about the trip couple days ago, we never imagin that we are right here, right now in the lake!







Sailing in the lake, moving little by little. Now, we are close to our first step, the little island in the lake. This is the island of the legend of the people lived here hundreds years ago.





















This is the island. We got to take a look and see how it become so famous.



This is the introduction of the Sun Moon lake. However, after the wind blow and sunshine for years, some words were unread able, we can see what it's talking about~





It is really special. The island is very small, and there are two trees and some stairs and stones. Outside the island, there is the artifical dock for us to walk on it. In the legend, old people here will offer sacrifices their ancestors on the island.











So far, we've seen the island inside the Sun Moon lake. Next, we are going to a place called Yi-Dashao village. It is a village of people live here in the past. Maybe we could see something surprising over there!

Here we are, the Yi-Dashao village. Actually, this is another dock. It's looks like another old street, there are stores and houses here. Many people still live here.

The captain lead us to a shop directly, and told us we could buy something here. However, we didn't buy anything here, but we took some pictures here!









Later, the captain told us to take a wald around, and arrange the gather time. We found a field here and some people are setting the stage. There's a party here tonight. Also, there will be firework tonight. Wow, we are excited about tonight~

This man is good! The weather is hot, and he wear the heavy dress and paint all over his body with dust. I could see the sweat droping from his head~ Of course, we gave him some tips.

Before we go, we tried some wine which made by people live here. It's good! Better than those made in pubs.

We get on board on time. However, only three of us were on time. Lin saw the captain's hat is on the boat. Then decided to take it and take some photos. It's really a lot of fun~



After the ship, we were tired out. But we will not let the great time goes by. We will see the fireworks tonight, but we have no idea about where to go this afternoon. After a small conversation, we decided to go to some places else. As far as I know, there are some beautiful places except Sun Moon lake around here.
